MY POSTER ANALYSIS...
These are two poster variations of the poster for The Hunger Games Part 2.
The COMPOSITION of the poster, features the main character 'Katniss Everdeen' only. this suggests that she is the protagonist of the film and she is more important then anyone else. In the first poster, it shows her side profile while she's in her combat attire with a mockingly on her shoulder. She seems to be among the clouds. All these aspects together suggest that it is the end of something and she is a very serene intuitive character with a burden on her shoulders. the second poster shows 'Katniss Everdeen' in a fighting stance holding a bow and around with is a weapon of combat. she wears the same outfit. There is an illustration of a mockingjay behind her while its wings create an image of Katniss with wings. this suggests that she in the mockingjay and is a symbol of hope. The fact that the mockingjay behind her is on fire, may symbolise the idea that she is a strong powerful independent woman that is influencing the people. she is the leader and therefore she is the main character featured on both posters. The GENERIC ELEMENTS include the idea that she is holding a bow and arrow suggesting she is a woman of power and action. the mockingjay is also a generic element as it is strong in symbolism. another generic element in the poster is her outfit. it is red which represents anger and passion. she is a fighter and she is committed to her cause. The STARS/DIRECTORS include Francis Lawrence which is the director, Jennifer Lawrence which is the main character Katniss Everdeen, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Woody Harrelson and Elizabeth Banks. The UNIQUE SELLING POINT is that it is an action film that features a strong young independent women as the main protagonist. This is a positive role model for young women. the TARGET AUDIENCE is young teenagers because of the action and adventure elements.
DISTRIBUTION
Creating a lot of publicity here by giving away tickets and holding competitions to get the people involved creating sense of interconnectedness.
Tweets focused around the release of Mockingjay. These show a sense of interconnectedness as they have broadcasted to people all over the world about the release and they all share the same excitement and anticipation for the opening.
Multiplex cinema's like odeon and due draw attention to their cinema as a place for people to see the film. they want profit coming in so they use prizes to draw them in.
