POST-PRODUCTION of the Thriller Opening and the Preliminary Task.
SCRIPT:
After we retrieved all of our footage, we used Final Cut Pro to edit everything together. It was very easy to get a hold of all the techniques to edit like cut, crop and ken burns. we were able to play around with the lighting and colour of the footage to be whiter or darker. Also, we could incorporate some fade from the footage to the title screen back to the footage of the next scene This gave the opening a more realistic and professional feel. We were deciding what effect to do with the title frame and what colours and contrasts we wanted to use. We went from using a completely white harsh background to a grey background which blended well with the atmosphere of the scenes.
Through post-production we added an overlay of the sound of rain to enhance the ambiant sound. We also inserted the sound a police sirens to fit the visual images and the event of an actual police car driving past the main character which we had simulated to have happened.
When editing the footage of our preliminary task, we had very limited skills and time so we did the bare minimum. We inserted some music to add an element of humour, which made it clear that our work was an amateur piece because it was very childish rather than serious.
