The renovation of the cinema was a three year project costing about £6 million. The building domed ceiling and original 1936 organ was restored as well as the art deco feature from the 1920s. These add to the atmosphere and make the experience that much more special. it had first been opened by the Lumiere Brothers. The interior of the cinema seemed quite old fashioned but was still in my opinion very comfortable and homely.
Each chair has been dedicated to someone which makes the cinema quite special. overall, Regent Street Cinema definitely has a very stately feel to it in comparison to other local cinema's like Cineworld in Feltham.
This experience was different from seeing Spectre in a multiplex cinema as it was a much more formal event. As a person that regularly goes to multiplex cinemas to enjoy viewing films i found the experience very enjoyable but i felt rather out of place. Seeing films in a multiplex cinema like Odeon or Cineworld is substantially more laid back and comfortable. Both experiences are comfortable and enjoyable but i personally like go to multiplex cinemas.
